Skin Type: Combination
Hi guys,
Today, I will be reviewing another product from the “White Tone” range of Innisfree. I had previously reviewed the eye cream, sleeping pack and toner from this range. I bought this essence along with the toner, and now I am finally writing the review. To know more about this product and how it fared for me, read on further.
Price:
1600 INR for 50 ml.
Product Description:
A white toning essence containing 5 active ingredients extracted from pure berries
1. Pure berry extract
Pure berry extract, a great source of vitamin C, brightens up the skin tone.
2. Paper mulberry and licorice root extract
Paper mulberry and licorice root extract rejuvenate and brighten skin while building a strong protective layer over the skin.
Ingredients:
How To Use:
Massage 2-3 drops of essence onto your face during your morning and evening skincare routines.
My Experience with Innisfree White Tone Up Essence:
The essence comes in a pretty off-white pump packaging with a white flower design embossed over the side of the bottle. The cap closes down completely, and is hence travel friendly. The pump packaging allows for an appropriate amount of product to be dispensed. It is hygienic as well. The bottle has a label at the back with all the information such as ingredients, directions for usage, etc. The bottle is slender like the eye cream. Overall, I like the packaging of the essence.
The essence has a thin, lotion-like consistency. It has a pale, milky white colour. It does not have a particularly strong scent, which I like. As I have mentioned earlier, I bought this essence along with the toner to help with the pigmentation on my skin.
After applying the toner with a cotton ball, I allow it to soak in completely. I take out one to two pumps for my entire face and neck on the back of my hand. I then apply it in dots all over my face, and smoothen it out by spreading it and patting it in. It feels slightly warm on the face, but it sinks in immediately.
It leaves a very slight sheen on the face, which goes away after a few minutes. It moisturizes the skin well, and often I don’t feel the need to go over my face with an additional moisturizer during winters. Over time, this essence along with the toner has helped me in achieving an even tone to an extent. It has not made a lot of difference to the pigmentation on my skin, it does not live up to that claim. Compared to the eye cream and sleeping pack from this range, it does not fare that well. Overall, it is a “so-so” product.
Pros of Innisfree White Tone Up Essence:
- Moisturizing.
- Chic packaging.
- Travel friendly.
- Evens out the skin tone.
- Will last a long time.
- Free from parabens, synthetic colorants, mineral oil, animal-originated ingredients, artificial fragrances, imidazolidinyl urea.
- Contains extracts from five berries.
Cons of Innisfree White Tone Up Essence:
- Does not have a big effect on the pigmentation of the skin.
IMBB Rating:
3.8/5
Would I Repurchase/Recommend Innisfree White Tone Up Essence?
I would rather try out more essences/serums from Innisfree that are from other lines. It helps to even out the skin tone to an extent, but does very less for the pigmentation. It is greatly moisturizing. I would not recommend this to people with oily skin as it might feel heavy in summers. I would not recommend this in general though, you can give this product a pass.
