Okay, I will just put it out there early - I'm a Mandalorian fan and every episode, every time Baby Yoda comes on the screen, I comment about how stinkin' cute he is. So when I saw this ColourPop eyeshadow palette and how adorable it is, I HAD to have it!
I'm not often drawn to green eye shadows, but in addition to thinking the packaging was so adorable, I actually like the olivey-green neutral vibe this palette has! The shades are really pretty! (This palette is currently out of stock, but they are doing a restock on November 27, so if you are interested it will be available again soon!)
And, it's actually been over a year since I placed a ColourPop order (since the Disney Masquerade release!), so I picked up a couple other goodies I've wanted to try lately - freckle pen, lip oil, glowing lip balm and false lashes, so I'm trying these all out in this post too!
ColourPop The Child Shadow Palette ~ $16.00 US. This monochromatic olive green palette features a range of finishes from matte, metallic, and our iconic Super Shock formula. Create the cutest looks in the galaxy with the fun olives, golds, and neutral tones.
But, seriously - is this not the cutest packaging ever?! And, the Baby Yoda is the same on the front of the palette - I love the detail by the mirror and even the little frog at the bottom of the palette. This palette has 5 mattes and 4 metallics/shimmers - this is a good mix and it's got a pretty good mix of medium and deep mattes (they don't have a light beige matte that is an all over lid shade for me, but I don't mind as I have a ton of those!) and they have a good variety of lid and highlight shimmer shades!
Precious Cargo ~ super shock opal gold with pinpoints of silver glitter
Right Hand Mando ~ metallic icy moss with pinpoints of silver glitter
Just Like A Tatooine ~ matte soft saddle brown
Sipping Soup ~ metallic true moss green
Baby Face ~ matte matte dusty mint
The Force ~ ultra-metallic vibrant antique gold with pinpoints of gold glitter
Little Frog ~ matte olive with flecks of silver glitter
Float Your Crib ~ matte blackened olive
Droid Protocol ~ matte warm deep brown
It's pretty safe to say that ColourPop's eyeshadow formula is pretty consistent across their palettes (I've heard some reviews that this one is even better), but I don't think it's much different than previous palettes and it's a solid formula. The mattes are smooth, easy to blend and buildable. The metallics are soft and apply really nicely with a wet brush or fingertip. There is a supershock formula in here - Precious Cargo - but, I didn't notice it to be much different than the other metallics (but it's also the lightest, so I typically only use it in the inner corner). The only formula that I thought was a little different in this palette was The Force described as an ultra-metallic and it was a little less pigmented and more of a shimmery topper shadow.
Here is a a look at the eyeshadow look I created with The Child eyeshadow palette - I used Little Frog all through the crease and buffed it out, then I applied Float Your Crib all over the lid and deepend the outer corner and lower crease with Droid Protocol. I applied Right Hand Mando on the lid and Precious Cargo under the brow on the inner corner. I finished the look with Baby Face and Little Frog on the lower lash line.
Also, I'm using the few newer (to me) products that I decided to pick up on my recent order - false lashes, freckle pen, glowing lip balm and lip oil and I thought they all wore pretty well too!
ColourPop QT Mark Freckle Pen in Soft Brown ~ $8.00 US. Get the easiest, natural looking faux freckle look with this lil QT! Super long wearing formula, buildable customizable color, and the softest felt tip applicator, create the most effortless sunkissed look.
I picked up soft brown as it's recommended for fair to medium skintones and I have been loving the faux freckled look - I still have to work with this a little but essentially I just dot it on and then lightly tap it it to look more natural. This was so long wearing as well!
ColourPop Lux Lip Oil in Blossom Out ~ $8.00 US. Get a sheer kiss of colour with this nourishing lip oil packed with antioxidant rich Chamomile & Calendula oils.
This colour is described as "soft rose gold with gold and silver pearl" and it's a really nice formula! I love a lip oil and I love that this one is a little tinted with shine in it and it's super pretty on the lips! (I have this over top of the glowy lip balm in the makeup look and I love the healthy sheen it gives my lips while leaving them soft!) It's not a super long lasting formula, but easy to wear and reapply!
ColourPop Glowing Lip Balm in Mr. Mint ~ $9.00 US.
These were just available, so I'm a little sad to see that this is no longer available - these came out with the CandyLand collection and I was so excited to see a glowy lip balm included. ColourPop has been doing those squeezy lip balms and I'm not really interested in that formula. The shade of Mr. Mint is a soft peach with pink pearl and it has a sheer, luminous finish. I though this applied so smoothly to the lips and thought it was soft and smooth on the lips. This is my go-to every day type of lip product, so I do hope they bring it back in more shades!
ColourPop Falsies Faux Lashes in "Dame" ~ $8.00 US. She’s here for wispy length and volume! Our 100% cruelty-free and vegan faux mink falsies are lightweight, fluttery, and gorgeous on all eye shapes.
I picked up a new pair of false lashes as all my others were done, and I thought Dame looked a little natural and just added some fluffiness to my natural lashes! I thought these wore and applied pretty good - they were flexible and looked nice on!
And here is the final look with all the ColourPop products I picked up in my most recent order! I have The Child palette and Dame lashes on my eyes and the Freckle Pen all over my cheeks. For the lips, I have the Glowing Lip Balm on with the Lux Lip Oil over top. Overall, I'm quite happy with everything that I picked up!
What do you guys think of this palette? Or have you tried any of the other goodies I picked up?!
