Bernard Arnault denies tax evasion rumors

Bernard Arnault has applied to have dual French and Belgium citizenship this week. This in itself is not news worthy and is not something that most people would care about - however, it comes as France have proposed plans to implement a higher rate of tax for incomes over €1 million. This will be enforced next year.

Arnault, who has denied that this is the reason, states that he wants the application to go through for 'business' reasons.  Yeah business reasons being that his business makes well over €1 million and the higher rate of tax, while not being high enough to bankrupt him, would affect his millions. Arnault, for those of you who don't know who this man is, is the fourth richest man in the world. He took over LVMH in 1989. LVMH are one of the largest luxury groups in fashion and they own - EVERYONE. This company owns Marc Jacobs, Louis Vuitton, Dior and Guerlain. I think there is something about them owning part of Hermes as well. Not sure though!

He claims that this wouldn't even change his tax status and he is dedicated to creating jobs in France.

However one newspaper seems to think that this is not the case and blasted the millionaire through the paper with the headline 'Get lost you rich jerk'....Arnault is now suing French paper, Libération for public insult. Dear god.
