I've never understood the madness that comes over people in a sale. It's like something in the air brings out the crazy in people and they just loose the run of themselves!
I know that in certain sales - its every woman for herself and only the best shall win and all that but how people forget their manners and act like pigs is beyond me.
A few weeks ago in black Friday in America (a day of sale shopping and general madness) a woman pepper sprayed people in order to snag a bargain. I looked at it through the wise eyes of an Irish/English person and scoffed, 'sure you'd never get the like of it over here...'
Well it looks like I should eat my words after security were called to break up a crowd in Gucci in Brown Thomas Grafton Street on Boxing day and then a lad got stabbed over sneakers in Foot Locker in London! What the hell is the world coming to!?!??!!
It just doesn't really pay to knock people out to get the last Gucci bag does it? Or does it? I mean, I think people are getting a little too excited about sale shopping and the possible bargains on offer - do we really need another useless jacket or shirt that we wouldn't have bought at full price?
This year, I think I am just going to skip the sales and just stay in...its seems it might just be safer!
